The opportunity

Himalayan Chew had a product customers genuinely valued. The opportunity was to turn that demand into consistent, scalable ecommerce growth.

Our work focused on strengthening the route from discovering the brand to making a purchase, and on encouraging satisfied customers to return.

Turning demand into Shopify revenue

It is easy to focus on surface-level metrics such as traffic, impressions or clicks. For Himalayan Chew, the objective was much simpler: generate more sales through the Shopify store.

Between 1 January and 17 October 2022, total Shopify sales were 9.9 times higher than in the same period the previous year.

This wasn't a short-lived spike or the result of one unusually strong month. Shopify sales remained consistently ahead of the previous year throughout the period, which points to a stronger underlying ecommerce operation rather than a single successful campaign. Getting there meant work across both customer acquisition and the store experience itself.

Growth that produced returning customers

Customer acquisition was only one part of the opportunity.

For a consumable product, the ability to turn an initial order into repeat business is especially valuable. Returning customers reduce the brand's dependence on continually paying to acquire every new sale and create a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

During the same period, Himalayan Chew's returning-customer rate reached 29.14%, close to three times the previous year's rate.

In practical terms, almost three in every ten customers were returning buyers. That suggests the growth was attracting customers who didn't simply purchase once, but came back to buy again.

Building more than a temporary sales increase

The strongest ecommerce results combine two things: a reliable way to acquire new customers, and a store and product experience capable of bringing those customers back.

Himalayan Chew achieved both.

Rather than measuring success through activity alone, we helped create a more valuable Shopify operation, generating substantially more revenue while building a growing base of returning customers. That combination of acquisition and conversion rate optimisation is usually what separates a temporary sales bump from durable growth.
